Cherubim,ensemble - Carols Of Birds Bells & Peace From Ukraine - Music CD

There are thousands of Ukrainian winter carols. This album presents a small sample of sixteen: it spans traditional miniatures to contemporary choral fantasies, all stemming from an ancient culture that is nevertheless new to world audiences. Some of the pieces have never been recorded, and many have never been released by a record label outside of Ukraine. Most of the carols in this album began as indigenous songs and were later painstakingly transcribed and creatively arranged for chorus by leading Ukrainian composers.
